Practice without affecting Elo or ranked match history.
Practice chess online before you play ranked
SkillR practice mode gives you a simple way to play chess online and work on openings, tactics, time management, and endgames before entering ranked competition. Practice games do not require a cash stake, making this a useful place to learn the interface and sharpen your decision-making.
When you are ready for competitive play, SkillR offers ranked head-to-head chess for eligible adults where permitted. Ranked matches use game-specific Elo ratings and fair-play monitoring designed to identify suspicious gameplay patterns. You can also follow the chess leaderboard, view upcoming online chess tournaments, or learn more about SkillR FairPlay protection.
